FNB Ghana Profit Reaches GHS106.8 Million
FNB Ghana significantly improved its financial performance in 2025. The bank recorded a profit after tax of GHS106.8 million, up from GHS18.2 million in 2024. This growth was driven by higher interest income, trading income, and fees. The bank also strengthened its balance sheet, increased customer deposits, and reduced its non-performing loans.
FNB Ghana reported a significant improvement in its financial performance for 2025. The bank's profit after tax increased to GHS106.8 million, a sharp rise from GHS18.2 million in the previous year. This growth was mainly due to better interest income, trading income, and fee generation.
The bank's operating income increased to GHS605.6 million from GHS431.3 million. Net interest income climbed to GHS353.8 million from GHS248.1 million. Net fees and commission income reached GHS77.2 million, up from GHS67.4 million. Net trading income grew to GHS180.9 million from GHS123.5 million. These numbers show the bank has diversified its income sources.
FNB Ghana's balance sheet also showed improvement. Total assets grew to GHS6.48 billion from GHS6.18 billion. Customer deposits increased to GHS4.1 billion from GHS3.86 billion, showing growing trust from clients. Borrowings decreased significantly to GHS271.8 million from GHS636.4 million, reducing the bank's reliance on external funds.
The bank's capital strength improved considerably. Total equity reached GHS1.00 billion, up from GHS537.7 million. This was helped by retained profits and a GHS358.6 million issue of new shares. The capital adequacy ratio strengthened to 34.08% from 24.68%. This provides a stronger cushion against economic shocks.
Asset quality also improved. Gross loans were GHS1.38 billion, down from GHS1.48 billion. Non-performing loans (NPLs) decreased to GHS168.8 million from GHS199.7 million. The NPL ratio improved to 12.21% from 13.54%, indicating a healthier loan book. Net impairment loss on financial assets fell to GHS7.3 million from GHS24.8 million.
