JOBerg Ghana Limited has donated GHS 2,250,000 to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). This significant contribution will fund the construction of a six-unit classroom block and a six-seater toilet facility. These new facilities are designated for Afife Roman Catholic (R/C) Primary School, located in the Volta Region.
This donation represents a substantial private sector investment in basic school infrastructure within the Ketu North Municipal District. The project aims to improve the learning environment and hygiene conditions for hundreds of pupils. It directly addresses a persistent deficit in public school facilities across Ghana.
This contribution falls under GETFund's newly launched Education Finance and Partnership Initiative (EFPI). This program encourages Ghanaian businesses to direct their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) investments towards the education sector. The EFPI aims to bridge gaps in school infrastructure by using private funding through structured and transparent partnerships.
Mr. Joseph Magnus Marteye, CEO of JOBerg Ghana Limited, spearheaded this initiative. He stated that the company's success is built on giving back to society. He emphasized that investing in the education of Ghanaian children is a lasting legacy for any business. Mr. Paul Adjei, GETFund Administrator, received the donation. He reaffirmed GETFund’s commitment to partnering with businesses to enhance educational infrastructure nationwide.
The construction of a modern six-unit classroom block will significantly increase the school's capacity. It will provide a safer and more conducive learning space. The addition of the six-seater toilet facility will bring much-needed dignity and improve hygiene standards for students and staff. These combined projects are expected to transform the educational experience at Afife R/C Primary School. This initiative highlights the crucial role of private sector collaboration in national development. It sets a precedent for other companies to contribute to Ghana's educational future.
