Lawra MP invests GHS243,548 in health infrastructure and equipment
The Lawra Member of Parliament has invested GHS243,548 into healthcare infrastructure and equipment. This includes GHS45,000 for medical equipment at Eremon Health Centre and GHS198,548 for renovated nurses' quarters at Domwine Sub-Municipal Clinic. The projects address critical logistical and accommodation issues impacting healthcare delivery in the region.
Lawra Member of Parliament (MP) Bede Ziedeng has invested GHS243,548 to improve health services. This includes GHS45,000 for medical equipment at Eremon Health Centre. It also includes GHS198,548 to renovate nurses’ quarters at Domwine Sub-Municipal Clinic.
This support aims to fix supply and housing problems for local health staff. At Eremon, staff had worked without basic tools for years. The new equipment includes an oxygen cylinder, a delivery set, a digital blood pressure machine, a nebulizer, and other items. The MP committed to providing an extra GHS71,000 for remaining needed items like an ultrasound machine this year.
The nurses’ quarters at Domwine had not been repaired since the 1960s. Nurses faced bad conditions, including leaking roofs. The renovation will now house at least two more nurses. This will help with staff morale and operations.
These actions are expected to reduce how often patients need to be sent to the main Lawra Hospital. They will also help provide 24/7 services in the area. The MP also pledged to personally pay for repairs to the Lawra Hospital ambulance to solve a transport crisis for emergencies.
